About ASA
Fostering Albanian excellence in business, law, and politics — from HSG to the world.
The Albanian Student Association (ASA) at the University of St. Gallen exists to foster Albanian excellence in business, law, and politics. We build the bridge between ambitious Albanian students and the professionals and organisations shaping industries across Switzerland and Europe.
Albanian identity is our foundation. ASA promotes and preserves Albanian culture, history, and language within the Swiss academic landscape — because shared identity creates trust, and trust creates a stronger network.
Beyond events, ASA supports its members through university life with a buddy system for first-years, career workshops, and a structured mentorship programme pairing students with Albanian professionals. We also facilitate cooperation between HSG students and Albanian-led businesses — creating a direct pipeline between talent and the Albanian business ecosystem.
ASA is building the next generation of Albanian leaders. Every programme, event, and connection we create serves that goal.
Everything ASA does is built on these five pillars. They define who we are and what we offer our members.
ASA creates the room where Albanian students meet the professionals who are two, five, ten years ahead of them. Through curated networking dinners, company visits, and career panels, we build a recurring calendar of high-quality connections.
Shared identity is the foundation of everything we do. ASA promotes and preserves Albanian culture, history, and language — from Independence Day celebrations to cultural evenings that bring the Albanian student community together.
ASA doesn't just introduce you to professionals at a dinner — it helps you prepare for the conversations that happen after. Our mentorship programme and career workshops give members a real edge in recruiting.
Starting at HSG can be overwhelming. ASA's buddy system and community events make sure no Albanian student navigates it alone. Senior members pass down what they've learned — which courses to take, how recruiting works, where to find your footing.
Albania, Kosovo, and the Albanian diaspora are producing a growing number of business leaders across Switzerland and Europe. ASA creates a direct pipeline between these organisations and the next generation of Albanian talent at HSG.
From a small group of students to a recognised force at HSG.
ASA was founded by Albanian students at HSG who saw a clear gap: despite the growing success of Albanians in Swiss finance, consulting, and entrepreneurship, there was no formal bridge connecting them to the next generation.
What started with a shared idea quickly became a full programme. The ASA Consulting Dinner (November 2025) and ASA Finance Dinner (March 2026) brought students face-to-face with professionals from Rothschild & Co, Schroders Capital, StepStone, and Ufenau Capital Partners. But networking dinners are just one format — ASA also hosts career workshops, cultural events, welcome gatherings, and community socials throughout the year.
With a growing membership and expanding offerings — including a mentorship programme and buddy system launching for the 2026/27 academic year — ASA is becoming the central platform for Albanian students at HSG.
ASA is run by a student board elected each year. Every event, programme, and partnership starts here.
